Sorry , the bugs struck again , but am getting back .

Just got rid of some SPAM comments . I think we know how to get rid of wrinkles , so that Comment went ! Australia

In case you missed it , Australia is having an election Sat week . What is being said is mostly rubbish . ( An educated population makes better decisions at the Ballot Box . ) Have a look at the oratory contained in this instead : FULL TRANSCRIPT: President Obama’s speech on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington .

The so called alternate Australian Government will say and do anything to get elected , this goes for some others . Their previous Opposition leader was so much better .

A lot of issues are long term verses short term populist and hard to " sell " . The National Broadband Network is an example , fibre needs to go right to the users box to achieve maximum speeds . Boxes may change with technology , the cable will not , unless laser connections are used , which is not domestically feasible at present . Something else may come in the future , but it is a way off . Over 90 % of the population will have 25 - 100 MB / sec , OK lets say it's very fast , faster than copper connections ( a short term Opposition fix ) . Faster connections and speeds in general lead to new developments and applications not even thought of now .

Not doing anything about man made gasses is another short term not even a fix . It is going to come back and bite with very expensive fixes ( if they are economically possible ) down the line . Even small things now will help . Why should the very media organisations that are shouting Climate Change down now make money reporting future natural disasters ? 

( Google any unknown words here and be very careful of results involving News / Fox reporting , not that some of the others are much better . Fox has become a mouthpiece for the Opposition . It was a really good idea to get rid of the Sub Editors , wasn't it ! )

The Opposition is also wrong on Refugees . The refugee issue could be so much better and more humanely managed by more closely involving Indonesia . Funding camps there to our standards , spending a lot more along refugee routes to Australia and letting Refugees in detention know what is happening in their cases on at least a monthly basis .

It is a world problem , most people want to live in relative peace , safety ( have a look at the picture of gassed children below ) and comfort in the countries of their birth . Yelling at Indonesia and towing boats back to I do not know where is plain stupid and will not work . Anyone heard of a battery drill with a 1 inch bit ? Close these new and expensive offshore camps , bring refugees that haven't drowned on the way here to the mainland and streamline the administration / law . At least provide short term protection on the understanding that not all will be here forever . Firm , fair and more or less is in the spirit of the UN Convention(s) AND someone please give the Greens a box of tissues .

Climate Change is here , a tax is a way to slow it .

A Mining Tax is a way , or a model , for other countries ( generally in Africa ) to get a bit more that the average 1 % they receive for most raw commodity exports . No wonder they stay poor and end up being run by thugs .

Syria

Even if much of Secretary Kerry's information came from Israel , it is too detailed not to be believed . There are not many options here now . Something has to be done to local air Command and Control and most likely anything that can deliver poison gas or interdict air power . ( Most likely next week , giving a chance of the UN Report being published ) . Otherwise , a lot more death and more refugees . How stupid , you have to kill to be kind . Russia thinks it is still a true world power and China does not give a damn about humanity , so long as it gets it's raw materials cheap and stops internal dissent spreading from other countries ( look at Tibet ) . These are 2 out of the 5 permanent member votes on the UN Security Council .

Before WWII , Hitler was warned that the use of poison gas would result in retaliation in kind at a far greater level . This is one of the reasons why they all know nothing about the concentration camps when they should of / did . It is also why there was no use of gas in the West .

Australia supports reasonable U.S. action over Syria . This is not Iraq ( which I knew was a disaster beforehand and marched against it's invasion along with another 250,000 Sydneyites. ) Afghanistan should have been finished off when we had Bin Laden trapped , rather than pursuing the rapidly and ill conceived invasion of Iraq .

There are a lot ( with more to come ) Syrian Refugees , particularly in Lebanon , charities are going to need money , Google for some suggestions .

P.S. Another rock and a hard space , at least we have a President who thinks before he acts . Always remember that a lot of material is not publically known . The present Syrian government knows that it will be / is lucky to get away with it . I wish that the International Criminal Court had more resources to act in these situations BEFORE and not AFTER these crimes are committed . The United States should not have these matters left to it . There will be no thanks afterwards . Where is the rest of the World ? Moral / ethical cowards .

The problem resolves to blowing up some military targets ( even with some civilian causalities ) verses more gassing etc. of other civilians .

I think Russia etc. will grumble and stay out of it . Syria might learn that it's actions are just not worth it . Forget about some form of attack being a punishment . I believe that the main aim will most likely be to disable Syrian air defence so the relatively slow moving drones can be used later , if required . Reports of the Russians sending more air defence equipment to Syria back this view . Remember where you read it first !


PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT MUCH MORE UNTIL AFTER THE 10th ( about 1 week ) .
