  2. It’s fitting that this first comment comes from Germany . I remember the recent anniversary scene at the Brandenburg Gate , a sea of German flags , some EU ones and a lone U.S. flag . There was the video link to the White House and I am sure that many remembered other things :
    The Berlin Blockade ( 24 June 1948 – 12 May 1949 ) .
