.Jokari paddles have been around since the late 1940's , many of the later models were sold in the early 1980's and again in the late 1990's in the U.S. , Britain and elsewhere . The paddles are part of the Jokari tethered ball game . ( See : The Spankoz Jokari Paddle Page for more details and pictures . ) I look on the use of Jokari paddles on adult bottoms as being equivalent to a hairbrush being used on a child's bottom ( based on the size of the area covered by an average 1950's hairbrush ) . No , I AM NOT advocating the spanking of children , I am talking from personal ( receiving ) experience !
.
Jokari paddles are easier to use than most brushes , they do not produce “ tip marks “ and have a greater impact .
.
Jokari paddles are made from heavy plywood . The earliest ( and most effective ) model ( sometimes known as the " Pauline Betz " ) is the biggest ( and heaviest ) , but it is a little too large for most people to use in the OTK position :
.
. The 1980's model is 14 7/8 ins ( 37.5 CM ) long and has a rubber grip , the handle can fit into most smaller ( i.e. female ) hands , unlike the handles of many similarly sized and purpose built paddles :
.
.
The last of the series was the " Champ " model , which is the same size as the one above and made from 9 ply .

This is a " fearsome " sight :

as it leads to this :

and this ;

( another view , note the swollen area , which is typical when heavy paddles have been used ) ;

The word " fearsome " is used in it's true sense , that of instilling fear into a potential recipient , even when they have asked to be spanked . ( If you are heavily committed to spanking , either giving or receiving , you will understand what I am talking about and how the brain may produce endorphins during a spanking . ) The sight of an implement may be sufficient to produce fear , say a cane hanging on a kitchen door or a paddle on a teacher's desk . ( Or both in the bedroom ! )
.
" Fear is often preceded by astonishment , and is so far akin to it , that both lead to the senses of sight and hearing being instantly aroused . In both cases the eyes and mouth are widely opened , and the eyebrows raised . The frightened man at first stands like a statue motionless and breathless , or crouches down as if instinctively to escape observation . The heart beats quickly and violently , so that it palpitates or knocks against the ribs ... That the skin is much affected under the sense of great fear , we see in the marvellous manner in which perspiration immediately exudes from it ... The hairs also on the skin stand erect ; and the superficial muscles shiver . In connection with the disturbed action of the heart , the breathing is hurried . The salivary glands act imperfectly ; the mouth becomes dry , and is often opened and shut . "
