Can Adult Spanking Be Explained ?

I am not sure if this is the right title for this posting . Adult spanking , goes beyond physical bottom smacking , the reasons behind it can be more complex than those for conventional sex . Transactional Analysis ( TA ) is one way of looking at the various levels of communication that may be involved in a spanking ( i.e. Parent , Adult and Child ) . However , what happens if power relationships are reversed during spankings , or to further complicate it , what if participants switch roles half way through ( See : Switching - Changing Spanking Roles ) ? The nice transactional line diagrams can end up looking a bowl of spaghetti . Personality traits and motivators can play a part .

Adult spankings may involve approach - approach and / or approach - avoidance conflicts . There may be also avoidance - avoidance conflicts , the lesser of two evils . ( These tend to be more straight punishment spankings , have the credit card cancelled or take a spanking etc. . ) Of course , several of these conflicts may be present at the same time . We are back with a bowl of spaghetti .

Approach factors include ; liking / wanting / needing to be spanked , emotional or stress release , stimulation , intimacy , feeling that someone cares , a just punishment for real or imagined sins , reviving childhood memories , exhibitionism , risk taking , foreplay , " clearing the air " , dominance , being physically overpowered , submission , having an dopamine and serotonin producing endorphin rush , intellectual stimulus , keeping a partner happy , earning a financial or other reward , etc . .

Avoidance factors include ; pain , humiliation , partial or complete nudity , marking , being regarded as " not normal " or as having a mental problem , " violence " , hurting someone , fear of being found out and / or being publicly exposed , reviving childhood memories , logistics , going outside of a real life relationship , submission , etc . .
